The Scouts only run came in the seventh inning on an RBI by Michael Vallone. Pitching was strong on both sides--Scout pitchers struck out nine batters while Gonzaga struck out three. Peter Turelli took the loss for the Scouts going six and two-third innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out three and walking one. Jack Ewald threw one -third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. He also made the most plays--nine for the day. Colin Lochiatto, Breck Nowik, and Brady Christoph each had one hit to lead the Scouts. Lake Forest played errorless ball.
 03-26-18  11:00 AM  Game     Council Rock South     Away     7 - 3  W   Lake Forest 7 - Council Rock South 3 On the second day of play at Ripken Experience Fields, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. the Scouts came up with in a victory in the first game of the day, outhitting Council Rock 8-2. All of Lake Forest's scoring occurred in the last three innings--one in the fifth, two in the sixth and four in the seventh inning. Ryan Lee, Matt Hill and Breck Nowik drove in the seventh inning runs. Michael Vallone was the starting pitcher for the Scouts, going three innings, allowing no runs, no hits and striking out three. Jackson Thomas was the winning pitcher, pitching three innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out five and walking one. Will Woidat threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Drew Golde led the Scouts with two hits in four at bats. The Scouts play Pickerington North (Pickerington, OH) in a 5:00 PM game today.
 03-26-18  06:00 PM  Game     Pickerington North     Away     0 - 1  L   Lake Forest 0 - Pickerington North 1 In the second game of the day at Ripken Experience Fields in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Scouts outscored their opponent 2-1, but came up one-run short in the end. Colin Lochiatto was the starting pitcher and recorded 21 outs, including one hit, no runs, four strikeouts and one walk. Kyle Wix threw one inning in relief. Breck Nowik and Matt Hill provided the Scouts' only hits in the game.
 03-27-18  04:00 PM  Game     Olentangy     Away     1 - 9  L   Lake Forest 1 - Olentangy 9 The fourth game during spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina turned out to be a run-away win for Olentangy from Lewis Center, Ohio. The Scouts scored their only run in the first inning on an error and came up with four total hits in the game. Drew Golde, Colton Pfeifer, Andrew Gough and Luke Nolan each had one hit. Olentangy scored in every inning except the first and seventh for a total of 9 runs on 10 hits. Each team committed two errors. Andrew Gough took the loss for the Scouts. He allowed seven hits and five runs and struck out three during his four-inning stint.
 04-05-18  04:30 PM  Game     Adlai E. Stevenson     Home     2 - 8  L   Lake Forest 2 - Stevenson 8 Stevenson came up with three runs in the first to take the lead for good. The Scouts scored one run in the first when Caleb Durbin stole home after he had a base hit and stole second and third bases. JR Naughton scored the second run in the third inning on a ground out by Drew Golde. Naughton had two hits and Durbin had one hit to account for the Scout scoring for the game. Stevenson added three runs in the fourth inning, one in the fifth and seventh innings for a total of eight runs on eight hits. The Scouts committed five errors. Peter Turelli took the loss for the Scouts pitching three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out four. Breck Nowik and Luke Nolan each allowed one hit, one run and struck out two.
 04-10-18  04:30 PM  Game     Warren Township     Away     4 - 5  L   Lake Forest 4 - Warren 5 Warren got on the board in the second inning with a double, which scored two runs. The Scouts countered in the fourth inning with two runs. Drew Golde scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Hill, and Andrew Gough scored on a sacrifice fly by Breck Nowick to tie the score at two. In the bottom of the fourth, Warren scored three runs--one on a wild pitch and two on a fly ball to right field. In the top of the seventh, Caleb Durbin reached first base on an error and advanced to second. Durbin stole third and Ryan Lee walked. Both came home on a double by Andrew Gough, but that was the end of the Scout rally when Matt Hill grounded out. Colin Lochiatto got the start for the Scouts and went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out two. Connor Morrison threw two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen. Peter Turelli led the Scout with two hits in two at bats.
 04-11-18  04:30 PM  Game     Warren Township     Home     1 -  W   Lake Forest 1 - Warren 0 In an exciting battle between the two rivals, both pitchers came up with strong performances, but Peter Turelli proved to be just about perfect on this evening. Lake Forest scored the first and only run of the game in the first inning when Caleb Durbin singled on a line drive to center field and then stole second base. He scored on a line drive to right field by Drew Golde. That was the scoring for the day. Peter Turelli pitched all seven innings, allowing no hits and no runs. He struck out five batters and allowed just two walks. Caleb Durbin led the Scouts, going 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double and a triple. Drew Golde had the other hit of the game for the Scouts and drove in the only run.

Stevenson     Away     1 - 8  L   Lake Forest 1 - Stevenson 8 The day after the Scouts' defense and pitching no-hit Warren, Stevenson tried to do the same to the Scouts; however, Shane Lynch, Andrew Gough and Caleb Durbin each came through with a hit. Sam Sheffield scored the only run in the sixth inning. This was the second game in a row in which the Scouts have scored one run. Stevenson scored three runs in the second inning and five in the fourth inning on 11 hits. Michael Thon earned the victory for Stevenson, allowing two hits and no runs over four innings. He struck out three and walked one. Andrew Gough took the loss for the Scouts. He gave up three runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.
 04-17-18  04:30 PM  Game     Libertyville     Home      - 7  L   Lake Forest 0 - Libertyville 7 It looked like the Scouts would be shut out with no hits as Libertyville's Riley Gowens pitched six and two-thirds innings and struck out 16 batters, allowed no runs and no hits until Griffin Strang hit a single in the seventh inning for the Scouts. Libertyville got things going in the first inning when they scored two runs. They added one in the third and two in the fifth and seventh innings on eight hits. Michael Vallone took the loss for the Scouts, surrendering three runs on four hits over three innings and striking out four.
 04-19-18  04:30 PM  Game     Warren Township     Home     2 - 6  L   Lake Forest 2 - Warren 6 The Scouts could manage only a run in the first and third innings on three hits while the Blue Devils scored two in the first, one in the second and three in the fifth inning on ten hits. In addition to the ten hits, Warren had six stolen bases. Drew Golde, Michael Vallone and Andrw Gough provided the three hits for Lake Forest. Mike Kocen went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Warren in the hitting category Reece Lawler was credited with the victory for Warren, pitching six and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six. Peter Turelli took the loss for the Scouts. He allowed three runs on six hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one.
 04-20-18  04:30 PM  Game     Adlai E. Stevenson     Home     4 - 3  W   Lake Forest 4 - Stevenson 3 The Scouts got even with the Patriots after losing to them in their previous matchup. The Scouts scored first in the second inning when Will Davis singled and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Davis scored on a double by Michael Vallone. In the third inning, Colton Pfeifer hit a ground ball and advanced on an error by Stevenson's second baseman. He advanced to third on a ground out by Andrew Gough and scored on a single to right field by Peter Turelli to grab a 2-0 lead. Stevenson got one back in the top of the fifth, but the Scouts countered with a run in the bottom of that inning when Caleb Durbin singled to right field, advanced to third on a Drew Golde sacrifice play, and scored on a Pfeifer fielder's-choice out Stevenson tied up the game in the top of the seventh, but in the bottom of that inning Drew Golde hit a ground ball and reached on an error by the Patriot's pitcher. Pfeifer doubled on a fly ball to left field, and Golde advanced to third. Golde scored the winning run on an obstruction call when the third baseman obstructed Golde from advancing from third base. Connor Morrison started the game for Lake Forest going six and a third innings. He allowed two runs on five hits and struck out six. Will Woidat earned the victory for the Scouts, pitching two-thirds of an inning, allowing two hits and one run while striking out two. Will Davis was 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Scouts. Golde, Durbin, Gough, Turelli, Vallone, Pfeifer each added a hit. Drew Golde made the most plays with 13.
 04-21-18  10:30 AM  Game     Libertyville     Away     14 - 15  L   Lake Forest 14 - Libertyville 15 Libertyville spotted the Scouts 13 runs in the first inning and added two more in the second, but Lake Forest continued to battle back with seven runs in the second, five runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth. Alas, that was the end of their scoring for the game. Michael Vallone, Caleb Durbin, Drew Golde, Colton Pfeifer, Andrew Gough and Ryan Lee picked up RBI's to lead the rally. Drew Golde led the team with three hits--two doubles and three RBI's. Lee, Breck Nowik and Will Davis each had two hits. Colin Lochiatto took the loss for the Scouts, lasting one-third of an inning, allowing four hits and seven runs. The game lasted three hours and five minutes and featured a combined 25 hits, which included 13 for extra bases, 13 walks and 9 errors.
 04-21-18  10:30 AM  Doubleheader     Libertyville     Away     4 - 6  L   Lake Forest 4 - Libertyville 6 Libertyville again started the game taking the lead in the first inning, which they never relinquished. This time it was just six runs and that ended their scoring for the day. The Scouts countered with three runs in the second and one in the fourth on seven hits, which was two more hits than the five that the Wildcats had in this game. Ryan Lee led the Scouts with two hits and two RBI's. Will Davis had one hit and one RBI. Jackson Thomas took the loss for the Scouts, going two innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out one.
 04-23-18  04:30 PM  Game     Lake Zurich     Home     1 - 2  L   Lake Forest 1 - Lake Zurich 2 Once again an opponent scored in the first inning to take the lead over the Scouts. This time the Scouts tied the game in the bottom of the first when Caleb Durbin scored from third base on Drew Golde's sacrifice fly to right field. Neither team scored again until the top of the seventh inning when the Lake Zurich put one run across and the Scouts failed to score in the bottom of the inning. Pitching was strong for both sides, allowing five hits for the Bears and six hits for the Scouts. Vallone started for the Scouts. He allowed four hits and one run over five and a third innings, striking out three. Will Woidat took the loss for Lake Forest, going one and one-third innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out four. Golde led the Scouts with two hits in three at bats. He also had the most chances in the field with nine.
 04-24-18  04:30 PM  Game     Lake Zurich     Away     6 - 0  W   Lake Forest 6 - Lake Zurich 0 On a night when the bats came to life for nine hits and the pitching was nearly perfect, the Scouts were able to shutout the Bears and allow just one hit. The Scouts got on board with a run in the first inning when Andrew Gough hit a ground ball and reached on an error by the Bears shortstop, allowing Caleb Durbin to score from third. Lake Forest added four runs in the sixth inning on singles by Drew Golde, Gough and Breck Nowik, which eventually led to three RBIs. The final tally came in the top of the seventh inning when Drew Golde hit a ground ball and reached on an error by the LZ shortstop, allowing Durbin to score again. Durbin and Gough led the team with three hits. Nowik was the winning pitcher for the Scouts. He pitched six and a third innings, allowing no runs on one hit, striking out 11 and walking one. Brady Christoph threw two-thirds of an inning in relief, striking out Jake Schwartz to finish off the game.
 04-25-18  04:30 PM  Game     Lake Zurich     Home     5 - 2  W   Lake Forest 5 - Lake Zurich 2 Once again opponents scored a run in the first and third innings; however, the Scouts countered in the bottom of the third when JR Naughton and Caleb Durbin both singled and Naughton scored on a Will Davis single. Durbin scored when Andrew Gough hit a hard ground ball and reached on an error by the Bears' shortstop to tie the game at two. In the bottom of the fifth, The Scouts clinched the win when Durbin singled, Davis doubled, and Drew Golde walked. Durbin and Davis scored on a line drive by Gough. Golde scored the final run on a line drive, fielder's choice out by Breck Nowik. Connor Morrison took the win for the Scouts. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out six. Jackson Thomas and Will Woidat helped to close out the game in relief. Woidat recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Scouts. Lake Forest had seven hits--Davis, Gough, and Durbin each had two to lead the offense, and the defense had no errors. Griffin Strang had the most chances in the field with seven.
 04-28-18  11:00 AM  Game     Prospect     Home     3 - 0  W   Lake Forest 3 - Prospect 0 Scout pitching by Colin Lochiatto, Colin McDonnell and Brady Christoph held Prospect to just four hits and no runs. Lake Forest offense got on the board in the bottom of the third when Michael Vallone hit a ground ball and reached on an error by Prospect's third basemen and then stole second. He got to third on a Griffin Strang ground out to the Prospect pitcher. After RJ Naughton walked and Caleb Durbin was out on a fly ball, Vallone scored on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the fifth, Peter Turelli walked and stole second base. Vallone hit a double to left field, scoring Turelli. Vallone then advanced to third on a sacrifice out by Griffin Strang. Vallone was able to score on a sacrifice fly to center field by Matt Hill for the last score of the game. Lochiatto was the winning pitcher for the Scouts going five innings, allowing no runs and four hits. He struck out one and walked one. McDonnell and Christoph helped to close out the game in relief. Christoph recorded the last two outs to earn the save for the Scouts. Drew Golde, Vallone, Will Davis, Breck Nowik and Durbin each collected one hit to lead Lake Forest. Golde made the most plays with 12.

The Scouts got on board in the first inning when Andrew Gough doubled to score a run. The Scouts scored seven runs in the second inning, led by Giffin Strang, Will Davis, Drew Golde, Matt Hill and Peter Turelli, who all drove in runs. Michael Vallone was the winning pitcher for Lake Forest, pitching four innings, allowing three hits and one run, striking out six and walking one. Sam Sheffield, Luke Nolan Andrew Fluri, Turelli, Shane Lynch, Connor Morrison and Golde all had two hits to lead Lake Forest.
 05-01-18  04:30 PM  Game     Zion-Benton     Home     7 - 5  W   Lake Forest 7 - Zion-Benton 5 Zion-Benton scored a run in the first inning, but the Scouts responded with three runs in the second and third innings and added one more in the fourth to come away with another victory. Lake Forest pulled away in the third inning when Breck Nowik homered on a 1-2 count, scoring Drew Golde and Andrew Gough ahead of him. The final run for the Scouts came in the bottom of the fourth inning when Brady Christoph scored on a single by Caleb Durbin. Nowik also led the Scouts to victory on the pitcher's mound. He pitched five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out five. Kyle Wix and JR Naughton helped to close out the game in relief. Of the seven team total hits, Nowik and Christoph each had two to lead Lake Forest.
 05-03-18  04:30 PM  Game     Zion-Benton     Away     14 - 1  W   Lake Forest 14 - Zion Benton 1 Thanks to an eight-run first inning the Scouts cruised to a 14-1 victory on Wednesday. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Colton Pfeifer, Drew Golde, Peter Turelli, and Colin McDonnell, a triple by Caleb Durbin, and a groundout by Sam Sheffield. Lake Forest opened up scoring in the first inning, when the Zion-Benton pitcher threw a wild pitch, allowing one run across the plate for the Scouts. They went on to add five more runs in the third inning. Connor Morrison earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for the Scouts. He went three innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out five and walking zero. Lake Forest collected 14 hits for the shortened game. Golde, McDonnell, and Vallone each had two hits and Caleb Durbin led the team with three hits in three at bats.
 05-04-18  04:30 PM  Game     Glenbrook North     Away     7 - 7  T   Lake Forest 7 - Glenbrook North 7 Glenbrook North scored four runs in the first and three runs in the second while the Scouts one in the first, third and fifth innings and tied the game in the sixth inning. In the sixth frame, Andrew Gough was hit by a pitch, and Breck Nowik hit a pop fly and reached on an error by the right fielder. Gough stole third and Nowik stole second and both scored on a hard single to center field by Colton Pfeifer to get the Scouts within two runs. Connor Morrison walked, Pfeifer advanced to third and Morrison advanced to second on a ground out by Vallone. Caleb Durbin doubled, which enabled Pfeifer and Morrison to score and tie the game. Caleb Durbin went 3-for-3 to lead the Scouts in offense with three RBI's.
 05-05-18  10:00 AM  Triangular     Chicago (Jones)     Home     9 - 3  W   Lake Forest 9 - Jones 3 The Scouts scored in the first inning, but Jones (Chicago) came back with three runs in the top of the second. That was all the opponents could muster for the day. Lake Forest went on to score one run in the second, three runs in the third and four runs in the fifth inning to win their second game on Saturday. Caleb Durbin, Colton Pfeifer, Andrew Gough, and Breck Nowik each had RBI's in the four-run fifth inning. Colin Lochiatto started the game for Lake Forest. He lasted two innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out one. Connor Morrison was the winning pitcher for the Scouts, allowing one hit, no runs over three innings, while striking out four. Will Woidat threw two innings in relief. Ryan Lee led the team with three hits in four at bats. Brady Christoph had the most chances in the field with 12. Drew Golde led the Scouts with three stolen bases out of seven total for the Scouts.
   10:00 AM  Triangular     Chicago (Whitney Young)          15 - 5     Lake Forest 15 - Whitney Young 5 The Scouts scored three runs in the first and second innings, one in the third, three in the fourth and five in the fifth inning on their way to a 15-5 victory over Whitney Young in a five-inning game. Drew Golde led the Scouts going three-for-three at the plate, with three RBI's, and scoring two runs. Peter Turelli had two hits and two RBI's. Breck Nowik added two hits, three RBI's and scored two runs. Jackson Thomas was the winning pitcher for the Scouts, giving up three runs on three hits over four innings, striking out five. Brady Christoph and Andrew Fluri entered the game out of the bullpen to help close out the game in relief.
 05-07-18  04:30 PM  Game     Mundelein (H.S.)     Home     4 - 1  W   Lake Forest 4 - Mundelein 1 The Scouts came up with their ninth win in ten games, defeating Mundelein 4-1. The 7-7 tie with Glenbrook North is the only game they did not win in those last ten games. Both teams scored in the first inning. Lake Forest's run came on a single by Andrew Gough. The Scouts added a go-ahead run in the second on a Caleb Durbin double. Michael Vallone was credited with the victory. He gave up one run on five hits over six innings while striking out five. Will Woidat threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen and recorded the last three outs to earn the save. Gough went 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBI's to lead the Scouts in hits. Brady Christoph made the most plays with six.
 05-08-18  04:30 PM  Game     Mundelein (H.S.)     Away     6 - 4  W   Lake Forest 6 - Mundelein 4 For the second night in a row, the Scouts defeated Mundelein--this time 6-4--after taking the lead in the fifth inning. Lake Forest trailed 3-2 in the top of the fifth when Andrew Gough singled on the first pitch, scoring two runs. Lake Forest scored two runs in the first inning and Mundelein countered with three in the bottom of the inning. Then came the top of the fifth when the Scouts made their move. After Caleb Durbin reached on an error and Drew Golde made it safely to first on a fielder's choice, Andrew Gough picked up his second big hit of the night on a line drive to right field that scored both base runners. Then, with two outs and Gough at third, Peter Turelli came up with an RBI single to center field to post a 5-3 lead for the Scouts. Both teams scored a run in the seventh for a final score of 6-4 in favor of the Scouts. Breck Nowik started the game for Lake Forest. He allowed two hits and three runs over three innings, striking out two. Drew Golde was credited with the victory, lasting three and a third innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out two and walking one. Will Woidat threw two-thirds of an inning in relief and recorded the last two outs to earn the save for the Scouts. Lake Forest had 11 hits in the game. Lake Forest could muster just two runs in the sixth inning, while Mundelein added two more in the fourth inning. Connor Morrison started on the mound for the Scouts and went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out one. Peter Turelli threw four innings in relief. Caleb Durbin led the team with two hits in four at bats--thereby breaking the career hits record total of 111 set by J.R. Reimer. Congratulations to Caleb Durbin on his record-breaking 112th hit.
 05-15-18  04:30 PM  Game     Waukegan High School     Home     1 -  W   Lake Forest 10 - Waukegan 0 Kyle Wix and Colin McDonnell combined to throw a shutout against Waukegan. Wix took the win, going five innings, allowing no runs on two hits and striking out five. McDonnell threw one inning in relief and induced a flyout to finish off the game. The Scouts scattered seven hits in the game. Peter Turelli and Will Davis each had two hits to lead the team. Caleb Durbin and Davis scored three runs, Drew Golde scored two, and Andrew Gough and Ryan Lee scored one. The Scouts were also busy on the base paths with 11 stolen bases. Durbin led the team with two.

Peter Turelli threw one inning in relief and recorded the last three outs, including a ground out from Henry Uriostegul to finish off the game and earn the save. Lake Forest scored in the first inning when Drew Golde doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring Caleb Durbin. Both Nowik and Andrew Gough doubled before the end of the inning extending the Scouts lead to two. The Scouts added a run in the third and sixth innings before securing the victory in the seventh inning with seven more runs. Andrew Gough (home run), Griffin Strang, Ryan Lee, and Durbin each drove in runs during the inning. Gough and Nowik each had three hits, Golde and Strang--two hits, Durbin, Lee, Turelli, and Colton Pfeifer--one hit. Lake Forest had 14 hits in the game and no errors. Strang had the most chances in the field with eight. Game 2 Lake Forest 10 - Waukegan 2 The second game of the double header was more of the same, except Waukegan scored a run in the third and seventh innings and Lake Forest didn't get on the board until the fifth inning when they scored two runs, followed by five in the sixth and three in the seventh to sweep the season series. Michael Vallone was the winning pitcher for the Scouts, allowing three hits and one run over six innings, striking out nine. Luke Nolan threw one inning of relief. JR Naughton led the team with two hits, Landen Messner, Drew Golde, Caleb Durbin (home run) Ryan Lee, Colin McDonnell, Brady Christoph, Matt Hill, Connor Morrison and Jackson Thomas all contributed a hit.
 05-18-18  04:30 PM  Game     Deerfield     Away     1 - 2  L   Lake Forest 1 - Deerfield 2 Pitchers on both sides held their opponents scoreless until the fifth inning when each team scored a run; however, Deerfield was able to add another run in the bottom of the sixth for the victory. Deerfield pitchers struck out ten, while the Scouts sat down seven. Connor Morrison took the loss for LF, surrendering two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out five. Will Davis and Peter Turelli each had a hit to lead the Scouts. Brady Christoph had the most chances in the field with seven.
 05-19-18  10:00 AM  Game     Glenbrook South     Home     5 - 4  W   Lake Forest 5 - Glenbrook South 4 Lake Forest pulled off a lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when an error scored one run for the Scouts, which resulted in the eventual victory. Lake Forest got things moving in the first inning when JR Naughton singled on a 2-0 count, scoring Caleb Durbin from second base. The Scouts added another run in the bottom of the second when JR Naughton hit a ground ball and reached on an error by the second baseman, scoring Colin McDonnell. After Glenbrook South scored one run in the top of the third, the Scouts answered with one of their own in the bottom of the third. Ryan Lee singled on a 2-2 count and David Tanna scored. In the bottom of the fifth, Colin McDonnell singled, stole second and third. Caleb Durbin was hit by a pitch and stole second. McDonnell scored on a ground ball by Drew Golde, who was safe on an error by the first baseman. Durbin scored the final run from third base on a single by Andrew Gough. Kyle Wix got the win, allowing two hits and one run while striking out two. Drew Golde, Colin McDonnell, and Will Woidat all put in work in relief. Woidat recorded the last three outs to earn the save. McDonnell led Lake Forest with two hits in three at bats.
 05-22-18  04:30 PM  IHSA Regional Quarterfinal     Waukegan High School     Home     11 - 1  W   Lake Forest 11 - Waukegan 1 The Scouts breezed to a victory over Waukegan in the IHSA Regional Quarterfinal game at Lake Forest and move on to the next round of the Glenbrook North Regional Tournament vs (4) Glenbrook North at 4:30 on Wednesday, May 23. The Scouts scored in every inning except the third for a total of 11 runs on 9 hits. Eight players accounted for the nine hits. Peter Turelli got the win for Lake Forest, going five innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out six. Brady Christoph threw one inning in relief.
